The Pious Paryushan Parva 2017

Paryushan means a festival to come closer to one’s true Self, the eternal soul. It is a festival to devote one’s faculties to the pursuit of inner transformation. It is a festival to focus on one’s inner self by temporarily renouncing worldly activities and thoughts. This year the grand Paryushan Parva commenced on Friday, 18th August and concluded on Friday, 25th August.

An elating Snatra Puja in which enthusiastic devotees lovingly did pakshal pujan of the Lord, brought an auspicious start to each day. Enthused seekers participated in the snatra puja with gusto, making the most of the joyous occasion. The hall reverberated with the soulful chants of ‘Aho Yugpurush Krupalu Dev…’ Stirring arti completed the puja only to be followed by Pujya Gurudevshri’s insightful discourse on ‘Brahmanishthama Pramadtyag’ adhyay from the sacred text Vivekchudamani written by Shrimad Adi Shankaracharya. Inspiring the true seeker to forego his indolence and follow the spiritual path with renewed vigour and zeal, the Master urged all to not waste even a moment of this precious human birth. Heartfelt Devvandan ensued by mesmerising bhakti every evening made seekers more receptive to Pujya Gurudevshri’s electrifying pravachans on Patrank 569, which was chosen for deeper contemplation. Titled ‘Atmajnanno Yatharth Purusharth’ it gave sincere aspirants the perfect understanding of the obstacles on their inward journey and solutions to overcome them.

The fifth day of Paryushan is marked as Mahavir Jayanti. The special day was celebrated with a soulful bhakti by the renowned singer Piyushbhai Shah. It was a devotional evening that dissolved seekers in divine love. Devotees were elated seeing their benevolent Sadguru lovingly rock the Lord’s cradle. The grand finale of this 7-day festival was the soul-cleansing day of Samvatsari. The heart touching alochana plunged all into depths of self-introspection – recounting the faults and misgivings committed knowingly or unknowingly throughout the year. Pujya Gurudevshri’s compassion knew no bounds as He walked to every level of the hall, blessing every seeker present. The Master left no effort undone to ensure that His disciples experience a transformation in their spirits.

By the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and Pujya Gurudevshri, this four-month period of chaturmaas saw nearly 101 mumukshus performing various austerities ranging from Kshirsamudra to Maaskhaman – 27 among them being youth and 37 children. Next morning after Samvatsari, the joyous spirit continued with a beautiful parna celebration for tapasvis. Samuhik parnas were conducted amidst great rejoicing, with the high-spirited tapasvis dancing energetically, expressing their love towards the Master. As the Sadguru made each tapasvi do parna with an item of their choice, their eyes lit up with joy and tears of devotion flowed in utmost gratitude to the Divine Master.

Truly the Mystic Master is an epitome of love, whose every action is an expression of divinity. The elevating Paryushan Parva drenched seekers in blissful showers of devotion lifting them to great spiritual heights.
