The First Ever Open-heart Surgery Performed in Dharampur With the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and blessings of Pujya Gurudevshri, Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre reached a new milestone recently – the hospital performed its first ever coronary bypass surgery, the first of its kind in the Dharampur region. An open-heart surgery is a critical surgery, generally performed at hospitals in large metros, developed cities or towns. However, Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre made this possible in a rural location, when 52-year-old Laxibhai was given a new lease of life. Laxibhai was diagnosed with triple-vessel disease, an extreme form of coronary artery disease in which the major blood vessels supplying blood to the heart become damaged or diseased. He was advised to undergo coronary bypass surgery by the cardiologist. With his weak financial background and limited resources, it would have been extremely tough for his family to provide him with the right treatment. However, with the efforts of the hospital team, this medical miracle became possible. After multiple visits and preparation rounds, the first ever coronary bypass surgery finally took place on November 12. The operation was successful and Laxibhai was kept under close observation. Constant monitoring and strict medical regimen are required for recovery. Due to the great medical infrastructure, care and environment at the hospital, Laxibhai was very peaceful and on the road to recovery. In less than four months of inauguration, Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital and Research Centre has truly become a temple of wellness in rural Gujarat, equipped with advanced technology and a well-skilled team.
