SRLC’s Stellar Award Winning Feat at the SCMM Charity Awards Night

SRLC participated at the SCMM 2017 to raise funds for the construction of Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital, a new 200-bed multi-speciality charitable hospital for the less-privileged population of South Gujarat. The morning of 15th January, 2017 saw over 1,000 SRLC supporters walk the streets of Mumbai spreading the message of ‘Awaken the Mahatma within You and Free Others from Suffering’, a theme conveyed through various innovative banners, posters, and costumes.

The previous editions of the SCMM saw SRLC win several accolades for its fundraising performances, including the Highest Fundraising NGO and NGO with largest corporate support. SRLC continued its winning streak at the dazzling SCMM Charity Awards Night, held on 6th April at The Trident Hotel, Mumbai. The event was attended by dignitaries like Shri Sudhir Mungantiwar – Minister of Finance, Planning and Forest Departments, Government of Maharashtra; Rahul Bose – Film Actor; Tara Sharma – Film Actress; Gul Panag – Film Actress and Zarin Daruwala – CEO, Standard Chartered Bank India. SRLC received the following awards:

Highest Fundraising NGO
SRLC had the distinction of over 150 fund-raisers who contributed overwhelmingly to achieve a record-breaking fund-raise of Rs 3.83 crores, winning the Highest Fundraising NGO award for the 7th year in a row!

NGO with Highest Number of Corporate Teams
SRLC received the motivating support of 22 corporate teams, an evidence of their unflinching faith in SRLC’s social initiatives.

NGO with Highest Number of Change Runners
Change Runners is a category of individuals who raise a minimum of Rs 1.50 lakhs for a charity they support. SRLC had a champion team of 58 Change Runners who passionately worked for the cause.

NGO with Highest Number of Young Leaders
Young Leaders is a category of fundraisers up to 21 years of age, who raise a minimum of Rs 50,000. The group of 55 young fundraisers worked as a beautiful team to raise awareness of the SRLC causes.

Change Icon
Vanprastha Abhaybhai Jasani received the SCMM 2017 Change Icon trophy for raising over Rs 50 lakhs.

The efforts of the Young Leaders received a special mention at this event and each one was gifted a certificate for their achievement. A video on SRLC was also played during the event. SCMM 2017 represents yet another successful initiative which provided SRLC the opportunity to carry forward its benevolent vision of bringing love and care to the underprivileged.
