SRLC Provides Emergency Relief towards Gujarat Floods The Indian state of Gujarat witnessed devastating floods. Several districts were inundated by floods with Banaskantha and Patan being the worst affected. As a result of this natural disaster, more than 220 people lost their lives, over 10 lakh homes were damaged and more than 1,00,000 people were evacuated to safer areas. Dharampur and nearby areas were also adversely affected by the floods. SRLC responded immediately to this situation by providing assistance and support to the people affected by the floods. Working in close association with the government of Gujarat and other NGOs, SRLC distributed kits containing clothes, blankets and medicines to the affected. Additionally, Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital (SRH) organised a medical camp to provide emergency medical attention for injuries and illnesses. Students of Shrimad Rajchandra Vidyapeeth (SRV) and Shrimad Rajchandra Gurukul (SRG) also participated in the relief activities. More than 4,000 helpless animals also lost their lives due to the floods. Standing true to its philosophy to provide help to all living beings, SRLC extended support to more than 10 panjrapoles through which more than 1.5 lakh animals would benefit. SRLC also made a contribution of Rs 61 lakhs to the Gujarat Chief Minister’s Relief Fund on the occasion of his 61st Birthday.
