Inauguration of Public Welfare Initiative ‘Atal Seva Shuttle’ With the inspiration of Param Krupalu Dev and blessings of Pujya Gurudevshri, on the occasion of ‘Good Governance Day’ on 25th December 2020, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister of India, Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, a new initiative for public welfare named ‘Atal Seva Shuttle’ was inaugurated at an event held at the Sports Complex, Dharampur. ‘Atal Seva Shuttle’, a joint initiative by Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care and Valsad District Administration, is a medical van equipped with instruments along with a doctor and nursing staff. This shuttle will have a monthly, day-wise schedule to visit every village in the Dharampur and Kaprada talukas. The primary aim of this shuttle is to conduct regular, complete health check-ups. It will provide nutritious food supplements along with necessary medication for malnourished children below the age of five, will cater to children below the age of 18 having birth defects, developmental delays and other diseases, as well as take care of the health of pregnant and breastfeeding women. Women with pregnancy related complications will be referred to Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital for advanced treatment while children suffering from acute malnutrition will be provided care at the Shrimad Rajchandra Child Malnutrition Treatment Centre. Around 700 health workers who will be helping in this initiative, comprising of 350 anganwadi workers and 350 ASHA workers in Dharampur taluka, are being trained by the highly skilled medical staff of Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital. The shuttle will also have a Revenue Talati and a social worker to educate villagers on various government initiatives regarding health, women and children’s welfare, adolescents, prevention of malnutrition, aids for the specially-abled, social security, farmers’ welfare etc. The launch event happened in the virtual presence of Shri Vijay Rupani – Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat and Atmarpit Nemiji – Personal Secretary to Pujya Gurudevshri and Trustee of the Mission. Esteemed dignitaries present at the event included Shri Arvind Patel – MLA, Dharampur; Shri R. R. Raval – District Collector, Valsad; Smt. Arpita Sagar – District Development Officer, Valsad; Shri Hemant Kansara – BJP Head, Valsad District; Smt. Jyotsna Desai – President, Dharampur Nagarpalika; Shri N. A. Rajput – Additional Deputy Collector, Valsad; Shri Ketul Italiya – Dharampur Prant Officer; Sarvarpit Dr. Bijal Mehta and Sarvarpit Dr. Sandeep Dadia. Shri Rohit Rao – Joint President and CSR Head, Kotak Mahindra Group; Dr. Suhas Shah – Chief Medical Officer, Kotak Life Insurance; Shri Prakash Nayak – Senior Executive Vice President of Kotak Mahindra Bank and Premarpit Mahesh Khokhani, Vanprastha Vijay M. Rupani and Sarvarpit Bhavin Rupani were also present virtually. On this occasion, Hon. Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Vijay Rupani said, “I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the work being done by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur and Pujya Gurudevshri which is based on the principles of Shrimad Rajchandraji, to uplift the tribal populations in terms of access to quality healthcare, education, preservation of culture and overall welfare. I am sure that we will be able to free women and children living in the interior rural areas from malnutrition, through the ‘Atal Seva Shuttle’.” On this occasion, Atmarpit Nemiji expressed, “By the grace and blessings of Param Krupalu Dev, the Mission is able to reach out and provide access to high quality healthcare to lakhs of people in need through its various initiatives. We pray to the Divine that this river of compassion for social welfare keeps on flowing, without any discrimination or expectations so it can reach out to more and more people”. The Government of Gujarat has once again reposed its faith in the Mission’s endeavour of selfless service by choosing it as a partner for ‘Atal Seva Shuttle’. With this initiative, Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care takes one more step in serving the rural communities of South Gujarat.
