A Pulsating Start to the Second Edition of Dharampur Premier League

The resounding success of the 1st edition of Dharampur Premier League bears testimony to Pujya Gurudevshri’s innovative ways to steer youngsters towards spirituality. By organising matches around Satsang Shibirs, the youth not only played football but also imbibed spiritual wisdom and deepened their love for the Divine. Sahebji’s Football Club (SFC) quickly spread its wings within India across cities like Kolkata, Pune, Ahmedabad and abroad in, London, New York, Toronto, Dubai and Singapore.

On September 1, hundreds of joyous youngsters congregated at the Ashram in Dharampur for the exhilarating inauguration of the 2nd edition of Dharampur Premier League. Comprising of over 600 boys and girls across 48 teams managed by 96 managers, DPL2 is definitely bigger in scale. Pujya Gurudevshri blessed the gathering with an Udghosh elucidating the importance of having a burning desire, ethics, sense of responsibility, discipline and rigorous efforts to achieve goals. Highlighting the energy and enthusiasm of the youth a throbbing SFC Anthem was launched.

Invited on the occasion was India’s Youngest Entrepreneur and Founder of Papers N Parcels, 13-year-old Tilak Mehta. A devotee of Pujyashri Mahant Swami, Spiritual Head of the BAPS Swaminarayan Sanstha, Tilak shared his thoughts and experiences of his success story and was lovingly blessed by the Master.

The Captain of SFC, Atmarpit Nemiji gave an inspiring speech on spiritual lessons from football. Vice-Captain Atmarpit Kothariji led the youngsters for the SFC Pledge committing to uphold the values while playing.

Along with Pujya Gurudevshri, the cheerful crowd proceeded in the form of a parade to the Ashram’s Large Event Area where four pitches have been made. Amidst great jubilation and thunderous cheers the Sadguru declared the games open paving the way for the first football match of DPL2. Over 70 matches were played over the weekend and the youth departed from the Ashram after the blissful Janmashtami celebrations.
