Initiatives by Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care on International Women’s Day View Photos Commemorating International Women’s Day on March 8, an extensive joint initiative was undertaken by Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care; GIA India, an independent subsidiary of Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Gem & Jewellery National Relief Foundation (GJNRF), to applaud the noteworthy role played by the women personnel of the Mumbai and Surat Police during the COVID-19 pandemic. To honour these women, thousands of gift hampers specially handcrafted by the tribal women of Raj Uphaar were distributed amongst them. The initiative in Mumbai was flagged-off by Shri Param Bir Singh (IPS) – Commissioner of Police, along with senior representatives from Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care, the Mumbai Police, GIA and GJNRF. On the occasion, Shri Param Bir Singh shared, “We appreciate this gesture of love and we are sure it would motivate all our women staff.” In Surat, the initiative was launched by Shri Ajay Kumar Tomar (IPS) – Commissioner of Police, who expressed his earnest regards for Shrimad Rajchandraji and His philosophy of appreciating others’ virtues and not harbouring pride in one’s own. This unique two-fold initiative aimed to not only present a token of appreciation to thousands of policewomen, but also provide a means to support the tribal women employed at Raj Uphaar. In another heartening story, Hershey India Pvt. Ltd., touched by the work being done by Raj Uphaar, gifted a hamper consisting of its flagship products to the women at Raj Uphaar. New financial literacy courses were launched for women under the Humanitarian Care vocational training programme. One such course aims to empower young girls in slums and mahilashrams to prepare for banking exams and job placements. Another basic financial literacy course has been designed for elder women. With the grace of Param Krupalu Dev and blessings of Pujya Gurudevshri, the manifold initiatives continue to uplift and empower women from all strata of society!
