Devotional Installation of the Amalsara at the New Jinmandir of Shrimad Rajchandra Ashram, Dharampur

In V.S. 1952, Aso Sud Ekam, Yugpurush Shrimad Rajchandraji bestowed the world with the gift of ‘Mool Marg Sambhlo Jinno Re’, illuminating the fundamental path of Jainism in a succinct yet complete manner.

In V.S. 2076, Aso Sud Ekam, Saturday, October 17, 2020, came another hallowed occasion – the installation of the Amalsara – the topmost stone – of the main dome of the new 108-foot high Jinmandir at the Dharampur Ashram. The new Jinmandir will feature Lord Mahavir as the moolnayak and Param Krupalu Dev will be consecrated in the Gurumandir located in the lower ground floor.

If the Jinmandir is akin to the body, then the Amalsara is considered the crown of the temple. Installing the Amalsara is a proclamation that the temple is ready for inauguration ceremony, and it may be organised at an auspicious time hereon. With overflowing joy, Pujya Gurudevshri anointed the Amalsara and drew the sacred swastika along with pious phrases like ‘Jainam Jayati Shasanam’ onto the stone slabs. The atmosphere was greeted with chants, sprinklings of vermillion and saffron scented sandalwood, incense, lamp, rice, and fragrant flowers.

Through the anointing, adoration, and devotional dance, Atmarpit Nemiji and Atmarpit Maulikji celebrated the purifying event. The Mission’s steering committee was also blessed with the opportunity to perform pujan of the Amalsara. Pujya Gurudevshri led the auspicious parade ahead, and finally it was lifted by a crane to the top of the Jinmandir’s primary dome. Indeed, this ecstatic pujan was a clarion call announcing the arrival of the sublimely divine Pratishtha Mahotsav.
