‘Yugpurush’ Drama Celebrates Valentine’s Day With Its Landmark 150th Show

Valentine’s day – the day of love was celebrated by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission, Dharampur (SRMD) in a unique way this year on 14th February. Last year on this very day Shrimad Rajchandra Organ Donation Programme (SRODP) was launched by Pujya Gurudevshri. To commemorate the first anniversary of this noble initiative, the Mission staged the 150th show of the revolutionary drama ‘Yugpurush – Mahatma Ke Mahatma’ at Tejpal Auditorium in South Mumbai. It was a perfect way to celebrate the spirit of love, on the day of love by watching a play on ahimsa, which is the true form of love and acknowledging the heroes who support the cause of organ donation, an expression of love.

The 150th show witnessed the presence of various organ donors, organ pledgers, organ recipients, organ transplant surgeons, volunteers who support the organ donation movement and police officials who enable speedy organ transport to patients and organisations by providing green corridors. Various individuals and organisations that are being instrumental in furthering the cause of organ donation were also felicitated.

Among the esteemed dignitaries who attended the show were Dr. Pravin Shingare – Director of Directorate of Medical Education & Research; Shri Krishna Prakash, Special Inspector General of Police; Shri Manoj Lohiya, Additional Commissioner of Police Eastern Region; Dr. Avinash Supe, Medical Director of KEM Hospital & Director of Medical Education and Major Hospitals; Shri Vinay Kumar Awate, Chief Coordinator of Organ Donation Maharashtra; Padmashree Penaz Masani, renowned Indian Ghazal singer and many others.

The play is an eye-opening experience, depicting the inspiring life and message of two profound personalities from history, Mahatma Gandhi and his spiritual mentor Shrimad Rajchandraji. Gandhiji refers to Shrimadji as his ‘refuge’ in times of spiritual crisis, crediting His inspiring guidance and vision to the development of his two most efficient tools – satya and ahimsa in India’s freedom struggle.

This play has truly captivated myriad audiences from diverse backgrounds such as corporates, NGOs, social workers, army officials, politicians, government officials, industrialists, film and theatre celebrities and students.
