Kannada Premiere Show of ‘Yugpurush’ – The Play When a flower blooms its fragrance spreads across naturally attracting numerous bees, in the same way an Enlightened Soul spreads the fragrance of divinity effortlessly and attracts people from far and wide. This is the awe – inspiring journey of ‘Yugpurush’ – the Play. Since its first presentation on 14th November 2016, demands for the play are constantly increasing from around the world. Due to its growing popularity and with the aim to reach out to maximum number of people, the play, which was introduced in Gujarati, is being translated into many more languages and the first language after Hindi, ready for ‘Yugpurush’ to be presented in is Kannada. The premier show of this epic play in Kannada opened to a full house of over 600 spectators on 21st March 2017 at the prestigious Vidhana Soudha in Bengaluru. This theatrical presentation, launched by Shrimad Rajchandra Mission Dharampur on the auspicious day of Kartik Purnima, 14th November 2016 beautifully portrays the deep influence that Shrimadji had on Mahatma Gandhi. This drama introduces the world to the man behind the making of the Father of the Nation. Sponsored by the Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Ministry, Government of Karnataka this soul stirring Kannada play drew a distinguished audience at the Vidhana Soudha, Bengaluru. The dignitaries included – Shri K.B. Koliwad, Speaker of Karnataka Legislative Assembly; Senior BJP Leader D. H. Shankara Murthy, Chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council; Shri Hanumanthagowda Krishnegowda Patil, Minister for Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Government of Karnataka and Dr. H. Sreenivasaiah, President of Karnataka Gandhi Smaraka Nidhi, etc. Heartfelt appreciation for the play flowed freely from many among the audience. One common thought expressed by many was that this play must be seen by today’s youth, as it would surely help to instill profound moral and spiritual values in them. Thus, ‘Yugpurush’ has performed over 250 shows across Maharashtra, Gujarat and South India. It has been heralded as a historic and dramatic masterpiece – running to full houses and receiving standing ovations.
